The Autumn Equinoth Sabbath (also known as Autumn Sabbath, Mabon and Alban Elfed), is the Second Harvest Festival and the time to celebrate the end of the grain harvest that began in Lammas. It is also the time to thank, meditate and do an introspection.
Festival celebrated on 21 March with the Autumn Equinox. The month of March in Gaelic is called Marty. In Welsh this festival is known as Alban Elfed or the Autumn Light, period where the second harvest is celebrated, started in Lughnasadh. Vegetation and sunlight diminish and the mysteries of life and death are present. Again, the days and nights are the same. The Northern Hemisphere is celebrated on 21 September.
Time for balance, peace and the time to make an assessment of everything that has been planted and harvested. The leaves begin to fall and the sun fades rapidly. Nature declines and prepares for the arrival of winter.
This festival honors the Welsh God Mabon, representing the harvest of fruits, the farewell of summer and the preparation for the coming winter. Mabon is the son of Modron, the Great Mother of Welsh, associated with fertility and field crops. Modron was sometimes compared to Morrighan, as well as Morgana Le Fay of Arthurian myths.
Ideal phase to banish, ask for harmony in love and protection from the people we love. Take advantage of the energy of this ritual to walk in a forest and harvest seeds and dried leaves, reflecting on the harvest received during the apex of autumn.

She was so enchanted by her young beauty that she instantly fell in love with her, grabbed her, kidnapped her and carried her in her chariot into the darkness of her kingdom in order to rule eternally beside her as her immortal Queen of the Underworld. The goddess Demeter sought, everywhere, her daughter taken by force, and, not finding her, her suffering was so intense that the flowers and trees withered and died. The great gods of Olympus negotiated the return of Persephone; but while she was with Hades, she was deceived and ate a small pomegranate seed, and then had to spend half of each year with Hades in the Underworld for all eternity.

Ritual of Sabbat Mabon
Start by making a circle about three meters in diameter. In the center, lift an altar facing north. On it place a candle destino the proper color of the Sabbath, a cup with water, a knife, a dish of salt, dust or sand, a consecrated altar bell and a censor.
